The Sumatran Orangutan Conservation Programme is looking for a competent and enthusiastic vet to join its dedicated team. The post will be based in the village of Sambahe, near Medan, North Sumatra, at the programe's Batu Mbelin Orangutan Quarantine Centre. Work will involve the day to day health care and monitoring of a number of ex-pet orangutans whilst they are quarantined, end eventually transfered to the programme's release site at Bukit Tigapuluh National Park in Jambi, Sumatra. The quarantine site includes purpose bulit orangutan holding facilities and a comprehensive clinic and laboratory. This post must be filles as soon as possible.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Basic accommondation will be available at the quarantine centre for the first year.
