			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>A World-Class Veterinary Hospital is in need of a Veterinary Technician Manager for its center in North Chicago. This position performs a variety of duties concerned with the management of the Vet. Tech. staff including ICU, surgery, laboratory, treatment, dentistry, radiology, internal medicines and kennels. This position reports to the Practice Director and will also receive direction from the Director of HR and the Chief of Staff. </p>
<p>Some Administrative Duties to be performed:</p>
<ul>
<li>Interview and hire Vet Techs and Tech Assistants</li>
<li>Oversee the development and maintenance of department manuals</li>
<li>Oversee the training of new hires</li>
<li>Prepare shift schedules</li>
<li>Assist with budget planning and development</li>
<li>Departmental procedure and job development</li>
<li>Perform technician and supervisory duties as required</li>
<li>Oversee and monitor Incident Reports</li>
<li>Monitor hospitalized stray and relinquished companion animals</li>
</ul>
<p><span id="more-573"></span><br />Some Technical Duties to be performed<br />- Perform appropriate lab request forms and submit with appropriate samples<br />- Perform appropriate clip and surgical prep<br />- Hook monitoring equipment up to patients<br />- Perform all required medical documentation<br />- Perform emergency procedures i.e. shock dose fluids, intubations, external cardiac compressions etc.<br />- Administer micro-chips, nail trims, and anal gland expressions<br />- Perform routine suture and drain removals<br />- Recover patients from anesthesia<br />- Obtain lab samples, etc.</p>
<p>Qualifications:</p>
<p>- Current CVT certificate or LVT licence<br />- Minimum 7 years technician experience with at least 3 years experience in an emergency or referral practice with increasing responsibilities<br />- Ability to appropriately handle, lift and restrain animals<br />- Excellent organizational, management, and communication skills<br />- Maintain state required continuing education requirements</p>

Each academic year consists of approximately 30 collegedagen; higher in the study can reach up to 32 collegedagen. The courses are normally given at a fixed full day per week. In addition to these fixed lesdag students studying independently. Experience has shown that students in addition to the toasted average 20 hours per week lost to this study. 3 phases: propaedeutic - specialization - graduation <br /> All courses start with a propedeusefase of 2 years. In the third year students to choose their specialization. <br /><span id="more-613"></span>
<p>Propedeuse - year 1 and 2 <br /> The first two years of study leading to the foundation and may wish to be completed with a certificate. They form the basis of the different courses. It is in these years laid a solid background in veterinary natural. Students who especially like to know the natural vision and preventive and lichtcuratieve potential of general interest will be sufficient to this level. <br /> From lesdag 1 there is a clear link made between the natural and regular veterinary professional. This is why Silverlinde a very large number of lessons Medical has included courses in the curriculum, lessons that are all cared for by regular veterinarians.</p>
<p>Students may, in addition to the tracking of a specialized discipline, including separate modules purchase of the other disciplines. It exists the possibility to create a private journey together to find that not only specialist but also can be very broad. For example, a student who graduates in motion still lectures Homeo or Exotics. </p>
<p> There is also the opportunity for students to the foundation after a flowing in the 3rd and final grade of the training Applied Veterinary Natuurgeneeskundige for Dogs and horses here and do their exams. Some students start their own practice and then again flowing in the 3rd grade of the 5-year training. </p>
<p> Graduating in Silverlinde <br /> Each study concludes with a practical and writing and defending a thesis. The examinations are held twice a year, around June and december. Students can graduate in their own pace, such as projects in the summer and the practical in the winter. Also in this way can re within half year. </p>

Provides professional medical veterinary services within the City and County of Denver&rsquo;s Animal Care &amp; Control Division. The principal function of this position is to ensure the humane treatment of animals while promoting public safety and public health regarding animal-related issues. The work is performed under the direct supervision of the Animal Care &amp; Public Health Manager but extensive leeway is granted for the exercise of independent judgment and initiative. <br /><span id="more-612"></span>
<p>Job Responsibilities: 				 			   			 	   			   			   			    &bull; Routinely examines or causes to be examined all animals brought into the Denver Municipal Animal Shelter to check for disease, injuries or related conditions which may prove painful or unsafe for the animal, or presents a health or safety risk to animal care personnel or the public; provides medical treatment and vaccination as necessary. <br />&bull;	Oversees and maintains appropriate medical histories for each animal while in the care of the Denver Municipal Animal Shelter. <br />&bull; Oversees and vaccinates animals at Denver Animal Care &amp; Control&rsquo;s weekly vaccination clinics, and occasional vaccination clinics held in Denver Parks. <br />&bull; Performs spay, neuter, and other minor surgeries (such as dewclaw removal, deciduous tooth removal, entropion correction and small mass removal) for adoptable animals, as applicable and possible. <br />&bull;	Euthanizes or designates for euthanasia animals deemed unadoptable or severely sick or injured.  <br />&bull; Develops policies, procedures, and protocols used in the care, security, diagnosis, treatment and euthanasia of animals at the Shelter. <br />&bull; Trains and coordinates staff in appropriate animal care, including nutrition, medication, vaccination, welfare, environmental enrichment, and euthanasia, including demonstrations to new employees and reviews for existing employees. <br />&bull;	Responsible for euthanasia certification of all staff members involved in doing euthanasia. <br />&bull;	Assists in setting guidelines for adoption procedures.  <br />&bull; Communicates and coordinates regularly with appropriate others to maximize the effectiveness and efficiency of interdepartmental operations and activities. </p>
<p>PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, palpate, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision (including microscopy), distance vision and peripheral vision. </p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Laboratory for Equine and Comparative Orthopedic Research (LECOR) is seeking applications for a post-doctoral position.   </p>
<p>The applicant will join a group investigating orthopedic stem cell applications. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of senior research scientists as with collaborators from within the Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine, the Louisiana State University Medical School &ndash; New Orleans, and the Pennington Biomedical Research Center. </p>
<p>Investigative methods employed include cellular molecular, genetic (RNA and DNA) and compositional analysis, histology, cell culture, and surgical techniques. </p>

<p>RESPONSIBILITIES: <br />&middot; Work with applicable department personnel to gather necessary information for protocol preparation. <br />&middot; Develop assigned validation protocols and prepare all necessary documentation. <br />&middot; Prepare validation packets that include all necessary documentation for protocol execution. <br />&middot; Conduct employee training sessions for applicable personnel prior to protocol execution. <br />&middot; Track validation documentation during protocol execution to ensure all is completed and returned to Technical Services. <br />&middot; Prepare assigned PSRs following complete execution of protocols and receipt of all necessary documentation. <br />&middot; Assist with and/or perform protocol execution when necessary. <br />&middot; Operate necessary test equipment. <br />&middot; Perform analysis of data obtained during protocol execution. <br />&middot; Assist with the completion of assignments to meet major department objectives. <br />&middot; Perform duties as assigned by the Manager(s) or Associate Director of Technical Services. <br /><span id="more-572"></span><br />BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: <br />&middot; Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry, Microbiology or Engineering, or equivalent experience in related field, or a minimum of two years experience in validation. <br />&middot; Must possess basic knowledge pertaining to cGMPs and regulatory validation requirements (e.g. FDA, USDA, EU, etc.). <br />&middot; Ability to travel domestically and internationally (valid passport and driver&rsquo;s license required). </p>
<p>ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: <br />&middot; Familiarity with pharmaceutical and biological production processes, equipment and utilities. <br />&middot; Excellent verbal and written communication skills. <br />&middot; Ability to learn technical information quickly and communicate that information in a clear, concise way to a broad audience. <br />&middot; Knowledge in areas of validation, which may include: <br />&middot; Process validation <br />&middot; Cleaning validation <br />&middot; Equipment qualifications (IQs, OQs, PQs) <br />&middot; Utility validations  <br />&middot; Facility validations <br />&middot; Autoclave and oven validations <br />&middot; Biological processes and equipment (e.g. bioreactors, fermentors, etc.) <br />&middot; Aseptic process validation (e.g. Sterile Media Fills and associated clean room validations and processes) <br />&middot; Validation Master Planning <br />&middot; 21 CFR Part 11: Electronic Records; Electronic Signatures <br />&middot; Ability to adapt quickly to changing project priorities. <br />&middot; Ability to interview content knowledge experts for information pertinent to validation activ
